Whoops, you're right. Jekyll erases everything it finds from there, so it wiped the directory... Files have been recovered from backup, I'll now fix it.

I'll check the git repo issue. EDIT: I checked, it clones just fine via HTTP. Did you use SSH?

You may not know that not a single person in the "KDE team" is employed by SUSE, or in any way working full time on this. We do this in our spare time, and with the resources we have. If upstream KDE (of which I'm part of, btw) will not support the 4.x workspace past the LTS period, we aren't able to bear the burden.

We can only support one version of the workspace.

I know I'm sounding like a broken record... but there's no KDE4. If you mean the Plasma Workspace 4.x, no, it won't be. It will not be supported by the openSUSE community KDE team. Applications based on kdelibs 4.x will continue to exist as long as upstream works on them (there are still many, and a full migration will take probably one more year at the earliest).

With the update of today, may be because of KDE Releases Frameworks 5.8.0 in tumbelweed, the desktop works fine :)

I have the same problem as you. All works until plasma 5.2, the icon have disappeared from the menu. Since this time I have also graphical problem. That was openesuse 13.2 x_64 (normal).

I have erase .config and .cache without a succes.

Then I have done a fresch install with tumbelweed and plasma5, but the problem is still there.

I wisch it will work soon...

For those not in the know, perhaps you could add a sentence what a "Daanboro client" is or does?

I'm often reading such announcements through Planet KDE, and it's surprising how many posts there are that mention some news with zero context...

Baloo is just a file indexer. It just provides searching for files. We do have a framework (almost) called KFileMetaData which provides tagging and other features for files.

If your application is dealing with files and tags then you can use these, otherwise you're on your own. Akonadi also implements their own concept of tags so that they can synchronize it with the server.

I have, as I mentioned "I have of course filed bug reports, but for the first time ever, a long time have passed without response."
And I actually did not delete, but move the folders. I also reinstalled openSUSE, and today. Inspired by your blog, I installed it again in a VirtualBox, and it looks as if the problem does not arise againg.
And... D... it is beautiful, KDE has always been my choice, and when openSUSE comes out with Plasma 5 as default, there is NO doubt.. I'm soo looking forward to it.

To be honest, I haven't seen your issue ever (also, deleting configuration file directories is never a good idea). I suggest you post your issues on the KDE Community Forums.

Well, I tried it, at it feels amazing, though I agree with Pinheiro, in the flat is boring :-)
But still, the most beautiful of the flat designs out there. (In my opinion)
Only issue is, that for some reason all icons in menu etc. disappeared after reboot, and all fonts were very big, and I could not reconfigure it at all :-( I removed .local, .config, .kde* etc and tried again, but still no luck :-)
I have of course filed bug reports, but for the first time ever, a long time have passed without response.
What I'm saying is, that even though Plasma has been out for very long time, it is FAAAR from usable :-(
